Last updated: September 8, 2026. This Privacy Policy applies to the CalmerNow mobile app and this website at calmernow.app.
1. Introduction
CalmerNow is a wellness app with tools such as breathing, grounding, calm sounds, mood check-ins, journaling notes, Daily Calm, Calm Habits, Focus Mode, Stoic Cards, reminders, and optional Premium AI features (including Reframe and Make It Calmer).
CalmerNow is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.
2. Information we collect
Account information. If you sign in, authentication is processed through Firebase Authentication. Depending on the provider and what you share, this may include a user ID, email address, display name, and sign-in provider. Our backend may store a matching profile (UID, email, display name, provider, plan status, timezone, and login timestamps).
User-provided content. You may create mood check-ins (including optional notes), focus-session notes, Daily Calm progress, habits, breathing history, and similar in-app content. Some of this stays only on your device. When you are signed in, certain items — such as mood entries, focus sessions, daily task progress, and notification preferences — may sync to our backend.
Purchases. Lifetime Premium is processed by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat for entitlement management. We may store a local premium flag and a plan status on your backend account. CalmerNow does not collect or store full payment card details.
Technical information. Backend requests may include a Firebase ID token, a timezone header, and standard request metadata (path, timing, status). The current app does not include advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Sentry.
Local app data. The app stores preferences and feature state on your device, including check-ins, breathing history, Daily Calm progress, reminder schedules, premium/usage counters, onboarding state, and habits. Reminders are local notifications. The current codebase does not use remote push messaging (FCM).
This website. If you submit the contact form, we process the name, email, subject, and message you enter in order to reply. Server logs from hosting may include IP address and user-agent. This website does not set non-essential analytics cookies.
3. AI features
If you use AI features such as Reframe, Make It Calmer, journal feedback, mood analysis, or daily coaching, the text or structured data you submit for that request is sent to our backend. The backend may forward that content to Google Gemini (Google Generative AI) to generate a response.
Reframe and Make It Calmer include the message you type. Journal feedback may include the note you submit. Mood analysis may include recent mood labels and dates. Daily coaching may include aggregated activity metrics and goal tags — not free-form journal text unless you submit it through a feature that sends text.
Our backend stores AI daily usage counts for signed-in users. It does not store Reframe / Make It Calmer transcripts or AI reply bodies in the application database as part of those feature flows.
4. Authentication
CalmerNow uses Firebase Authentication. On iOS, Sign in with Apple is the primary supported method in the current product configuration. Google Sign-In exists in the app codebase but is currently disabled for the iOS-first release. You can use many tools without signing in.
Signing out ends the session. It is not the same as deleting your account. See Data & Account Deletion.
5. Purchases
In-app purchases (including Lifetime Premium) are processed by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat. RevenueCat may receive an app user identifier linked to your signed-in Firebase UID so entitlements can be restored across devices. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
6. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide app features, including optional signed-in sync
- authenticate you and keep sessions secure
- generate AI responses you request
- verify and restore Premium entitlements
- operate local reminders you enable
- reply to support messages you send
- maintain basic reliability of the service
7. Third parties
We share information with service providers only as needed:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases
- Google — Google Play purchases where applicable, Firebase Authentication, and Gemini for AI features you request
- RevenueCat — purchase and entitlement management
- Cloud hosting providers that operate the backend API (configurations reference platforms such as Google Cloud Run and/or Render)
We do not sell personal information to advertisers. Third parties process data under their own terms.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Exact TTLs are not hard-coded in the current application. Local data remains until you clear app data or uninstall. Backend records remain until deleted or de-identified after a valid deletion request, or as otherwise required.
9. Security
We use HTTPS for production API traffic, Firebase Authentication for signed-in requests, and server-side secrets for backend credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Your rights and deletion
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold, subject to applicable law. In-app deletion is available at Settings → Delete account while signed in. You can also email yigit.cilli@gmail.com with the subject “CalmerNow account deletion”. More detail is on the deletion page.
11. Children
CalmerNow is a general wellness app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
12. International users
Service providers (including Apple, Google/Firebase, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, and cloud hosts) may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data-protection rules than your own.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we post a revision. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
